The Challenge

Your valuable creations and private materials—from designs and webcomics to private photos and educational materials—can be easily copied and shared by recipients. On top of that, even AI can steal your materials. This directly impacts your profits, your ownership rights, and your privacy. While you need to prevent this unauthorized sharing, forcing recipients to install complex Enterprise Digital Rights Management (EDRM) software is difficult for everyone.

The DICO Difference

Digital Coating makes strong security simple. Traditional security is often hard to use, and solutions that are easy aren't very strong.

We’ve solved that by providing top-level protection that’s designed for the general public, making it both powerful and incredibly easy to use.

Digital Coating (DICO)

Secure your online images and PDFs against unauthorized copying, including screenshots, scanning, downloads, printing, text extraction, photography, AI use, and sharing.
No software installation or browser extensions required.
Works seamlessly within any web browser.
Designed for everyone, regardless of technical expertise.
Available on macOS, iOS, iPadOS, Windows, and Android devices.
DicoBiz Phase 1/3 is completely free to use.
Ideal for protecting publicly shared online images or PDFs from unauthorized copying while ensuring easy access without any software installation.
Stay tuned for additional features and support for more file formats in upcoming Dico phases.

Viewer Installation Req
Required. Usually needs a dedicated viewer program to be installed.
Not required. Can be viewed directly in a standard web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, etc.).
DRM Operation Method
Encryption and permissions (editing, printing, copying restrictions) are embedded directly within the file itself. The viewer interprets the file and enforces security policies.
The file exists in an encrypted form on the server. DICO's in-browser viewer decrypts it in real-time within the browser's memory and renders it as pixels on the screen. Instead of direct file download, a secure viewing link controls the access environment.
File Distribution Method
The encrypted file itself is downloaded/distributed to the user.
The file is not directly downloaded. Users receive a secure 'viewing link' and access it via a web browser.
Key Security Features
- Only encrypted files can be opened
- Print/edit/copy restrictions
- Watermarks
- View duration limits
- Real-time screenshot prevention within the web browser
- Scanning prevention, AI-based information extraction prevention
- Significantly hindering physical camera photo attempts
- Download/print/copy prevention
- View count/duration/VPN IP/account restrictions
- Blocking of rooted/jailbroken devices, webviews, and other insecure environments
- Remote access revocation and deletion
- View tracking/logging
Advantages
- Offline viewing and DRM application possible
- Strong file-level control
- Exceptional accessibility (no installation required)
- Highly useful for sharing everyday photos, as it can be viewed directly like a regular link service.
- Powerful real-time leakage prevention (defends against screen capture, scanning, and even photo attempts)
- Centralized remote control (control possible even after distribution)
- OS/browser independent (web standards based)
Disadvantages / Limitations
- Forces recipient to install viewer (user inconvenience)
- Once downloaded, file control is difficult
- Difficulty in preventing secondary leakage like screenshots (depends on viewer features)
- Internet connection required (as it's web-based)
- DICO may prevent files from opening on devices with identified security vulnerabilities from the outset, which can be inconvenient for some users.

DICO strives for copying prevention by implementing a variety of security measures

* Screenshots prevention, scanning prevention, AI prevention, and download-and-view prevention are always enabled by default
Expiry Control: Set an expiration date for viewing the coated file. Users can only access the file within the specified time period.
View Count Limit: Set the maximum number of times the coated file can be viewed. Once the viewing limit is reached, access to the file will be restricted.
Authentication (SMS/Email): Owner-specified recipients can access files via SMS/Email authentication.
Password Protection: Viewing the coated file requires a password.
Block Screen: Screen activity is restricted while viewing the coated file. This prevents switching apps, minimizing the file, or performing other actions.
No Photo Taking: This setting makes it difficult to take a picture of the file using a phone.
Recipient Watermark: You can enable a real-time watermark on the coated file, displaying the recipient's IP address, mobile number, or email address.
Block VPN Access: Access via anonymous IP or VPN is blocked.
Lock & Unlock: Temporarily lock your coated files.
Print Control: You can control whether or not the coated files can be printed.
